Our Story

Founded in Taichung, Taiwan, in 1945, Giant Knitting Co., Ltd started our first business in manufacturing red yarns. From the 70’s to 90’s, with the growing shoe factories in Taichung, Giant Knitting started to manufacture webbings and shoe laces in 1969. During this period, we widely expanded our business network in footwear industry.

1995 was the milestone of Giant Knitting. We became an authorized converter of 3M Scotchlite Reflective Material in Taiwan’s footwear market. Our business ramped up with a very high market share in providing reflective material and products. Four years later, 1999, we got another supplier certificate from 3M Scotchlite Reflective Material for clothing manufacturing purpose and became a vanguard in apparel market. Also, our R&D team were authorized a certificate of product development from 3M and dedicated to satisfying market needs with new creations.

In 2000, we started our global strategy. We built up our first manufacturing plant, GKC, in Dong Guan, China, to provide a better, faster service to local footwear manufacturers in Guang Dong, including Pauchen, the biggest footwear maker all over the world. And in 2008 we founded DG, in Taichung, which mainly produces our webbings and shoelaces. Now, our new global prospect is to extend our branch to Vietnam.

Currently over 80% of our products are reflective material/applications. These products are widely applied in apparel, footwear, and gear/accessories industry. Our customers cover many sports brands of apparel, footwear: such as Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Pearl Izumi, TNF, Brooks, Asics, Mizuno, etc.

Our main products in apparel market include all kinds of reflective applications: such as reflective heat seals, reflective stretch/non-stretch pipings, reflective stretch/non-stretch tapes, reflective badges, and reflective fabrics, etc. Besides, we provide various heat seals: such as the regular ink stretch heat seal, foil print heat transfer, and flock print heat transfer, etc.

Our main products in footwear market include the reflective synthetic leather, reflective fabric, and some non-reflective but functional/fashion materials.
